How it works
Your file is processed entirely in your browser, on your device. It is never uploaded to a server, and we never see its contents or keep any part of it.
Frequently asked questions
Is this real redaction or just a black box?
Real. The text, images and drawings under each mark are deleted from the page itself, and a black box is optionally drawn in their place. Before the file is returned the tool checks that the removed text can no longer be read from it.
What else is removed?
By default also the document metadata, bookmarks, page thumbnails, attachments and the accessibility tag tree, because they can repeat what you removed. The file is rewritten so removed content does not remain hidden inside it.
Can I remove a word everywhere?
Yes. Add the word and every occurrence on every page is found and removed. In Arabic, matching ignores diacritics and common spelling variants.
What is not covered?
Values typed into form fields are not removed, so flatten or clear such fields first. Keep your original: redaction cannot be undone on the file you save.
Is my document uploaded?
No. Redaction happens in your browser, and the words you list are never sent anywhere.
