Your files stay on your device

Every tool runs inside your browser. Your PDFs and images, their pages, the text in them and their file names are never uploaded: we have no server that receives them, and the site's security policy stops the page from sending anything to another site. Files you open are held in the tab's memory and are gone when you close it.

If you share files to the installed app from another app, your browser holds them on your device only until the page picks them up, then deletes them.

What happens when you visit

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical request data, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Your browser may also report network errors on our pages to Cloudflare: the page address and the kind of error, never anything from your files.

We use no cookies and no advertising, and there are no accounts.

Anonymous usage counts

To learn which tools are useful, the page counts a few events: a tool page was opened, a job started, finished or failed, a free limit was reached, or the app was installed. Each count records only the tool, the language and coarse ranges such as "1 to 10 MB" or "2 to 10 pages". Your files, their names and text, exact sizes, your IP address and anything else that could identify you or your device are never recorded, and no cookies are used. The counts are sent to our own site and stored in our Cloudflare account.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted.

If you use Pro

When you activate Pro, your browser keeps your licence: a signed token, a random device ID it makes for this purpose, and the last time the licence was checked (so that a clock set back can be noticed). To activate, renew or remove Pro, the page sends the transaction ID from your receipt, or the token, together with the device ID to our licence service. The service stores the device ID and when it was last seen, so that Pro works on up to three devices, and nothing else about you: no name, email address or payment details. Purchases are handled by Paddle, the merchant of record, under its own privacy policy.

What is kept on your device

If you choose a language, your browser remembers the choice. So that the tools work offline, your browser also keeps a copy of the site's pages and engines. Neither contains anything from your files, and you can remove both by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

When you email us

If you write to us, we use your message and your email address only to reply, and keep them only while the conversation is active.

Changes

This page describes the site as it is today. If we add anything that changes what is collected, such as paid features, we will update this page before it goes live.
